Communication/Cameras

Our center uses Brightwheel to communicate digitally with parents about their child’s day. This includes photos, messages, and a daily summary of what the classroom did during the day. Our center does have cameras inside our facility for in-house use and monitoring in each classroom and our outdoor play area.

Nutrition

  • Focus on whole foods compared to process foods

  • Focus on low sodium and low sugar, organic when possible

  • Focus on conversations during meals to use all five senses to experience foods

  • Focus on providing choices of fruits and veggies at meals

  • Partner with parents to accommodate diets

  • Focus on providing non-food items for rewards as well as involving your child in food decisions

To provide flexibility and choices, we furnish a grab and go breakfast for your child from 8:00AM until 9:00AM.

Our lunch and supper options go above and beyond the state minimums for nutrition. We do our best to keep out additives, preservatives, and dyes when we can. Milk is served with every meal.

Formula and breast milk bottles are prepared at home and brought daily to our center by each family. Baby food, cereal, and snacks are provided for our infants.

Overall, we do our best to make “nutritious the norm”. However, we absolutely love working with children, and sometimes everyone just needs an ice cream bar on a hot day or a little comfort food! We keep our families updated on what the children eat in our Brightwheel app.

Well-Being

Our schedule includes a large amount of physical movement both inside the classrooms and outdoors. We provide gross motor equipment in each room so that children can let out their energy, even if weather prevents outside recess.

We provide a calming atmosphere with non-fluorescent lighting, neutral colors, and less decorating on our walls to decrease sensory overload. Our preschool classrooms have calming corners for children who need quiet spaces.

We think nature helps the mind relax! We spend much of our schedule outside when possible. We also bring in plants to our classrooms to provide green space and every room has amazing windows to let in natural light!
